BACKGROUND/BIO
Kent Rogert was born in Blair and raised on a farm 7 miles west of
Herman, NE. He graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1991,
was awarded the Board of Regent’s Scholarship and moved to Lincoln
to attend the University of Nebraska. He graduated in 1995 with a
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis in Ag
Economics.
He worked for Greenwood Coop and Cenex/Land ‘O
Lakes for two years as a Crop Productions Specialist and for American
Cyanamid for two years as a sales representative. In 1999, he moved
to Omaha to work as a District Sales Manager for Garst Seed Company.
In early 2005, he decided to leave Garst to start his own multi-faceted
farm business consulting firm. His company, Frontier Farm and Financial,
offers clients risk management and grain marketing services through
FuturesOne of Lincoln, crop insurance through Curt Ray Insurance
in Tekamah, and seed solutions from Garst Seed Company.
His
political aspirations date back to his childhood as he remembers
meeting and speaking many times with Senator Jim Goll of Tekamah,
and his father’s involvement in Senator Frank Korshoj’s
campaign in 1986. He held offices in several organizations in high
school and college and several of his college friends were pages
at the Capital building during the 90’s, which he wishes he
had taken part in. He is a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of
Tekamah, Tekamah Lodge No. 31, Northridge County Club, the Tekamah
and West Point Chambers of Commerce and is an active alumnus of
the University of Nebraska and the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
