BACKGROUND/BIO
Kent Rogert was born in Blair and raised on a farm 7 miles west of Herman, NE. He graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1991, was awarded the Board of Regent’s Scholarship and moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis in Ag Economics.

He worked for Greenwood Coop and Cenex/Land ‘O Lakes for two years as a Crop Productions Specialist and for American Cyanamid for two years as a sales representative. In 1999, he moved to Omaha to work as a District Sales Manager for Garst Seed Company. In early 2005, he decided to leave Garst to start his own multi-faceted farm business consulting firm. His company, Frontier Farm and Financial, offers clients risk management and grain marketing services through FuturesOne of Lincoln, crop insurance through Curt Ray Insurance in Tekamah, and seed solutions from Garst Seed Company.

His political aspirations date back to his childhood as he remembers meeting and speaking many times with Senator Jim Goll of Tekamah, and his father’s involvement in Senator Frank Korshoj’s campaign in 1986. He held offices in several organizations in high school and college and several of his college friends were pages at the Capital building during the 90’s, which he wishes he had taken part in. He is a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Tekamah, Tekamah Lodge No. 31, Northridge County Club, the Tekamah and West Point Chambers of Commerce and is an active alumnus of the University of Nebraska and the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
